African Angels Independent School

The African Angels Independent School was founded by Shelley Godsell-Mocke and Julie Taylor in Chintsa. It provides an excellent standard of education and emotional support to over 140 children in the impoverished Eastern Cape of South Africa. Many of these children experience trauma and live in poverty-stricken situations. The school has introduced art classes in the curriculum to help the children express themselves and develop emotional intelligence. The long-term impact is to empower these vulnerable children, living in severely compromised conditions, to think creatively, develop problem-solving skills and have fun while expressing themselves through art.
