Description of project

Suni-Ridge Sand Forest Park, a non-profit environmental centre within South Africa’s UNESCO World Heritage Site, Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park, was founded in 1999 for the vital purpose of rehabilitating and safeguarding the rare and endangered sand forest ecosystem. This unique habitat, distinguished by white sand soils, houses diverse species like the suni antelope, sand forest elephant and black rhinoceros. The park offers tailored programmes for all ages, emphasising the significance of sand forests and conservation efforts. Visitors can partake in rehabilitation endeavours through volunteering, fostering a collective commitment to protect this invaluable ecosystem for generations to come.
