Sweethearts Foundation

The Sweethearts Foundation, established in 2010 by sisters Jessica and Nadia Herbst in Johannesburg, South Africa, aims to provide wheelchairs to those in need. Inspired by a boy named Sipho who couldn’t attend school due to lack of a wheelchair, they have distributed over 10 000 wheelchairs across South Africa. The foundation collaborates with schools, businesses, and individuals to recycle plastic bottle tops and bread tags, funding wheelchair purchases. Beyond wheelchairs, the foundation offers maintenance, repairs and training. They also work to raise awareness about the challenges faced by disabled individuals in South Africa.
